Clifton grew up in Harare and attained his primary medical qualification from the renowned Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine (now College of Health Sciences). Following a two-year internship Clifton trained in General Surgery and acquired a specialist post-graduate qualification in 1999. This was followed by further training and certification at specialist fellowship level with the College of Surgeons, South Africa. Clifton’s thesis was in Surgical oncology looking at presentation and management of soft tissue tumours and sarcomas in black patients. In 2004, Clifton was awarded fellowship by the College of Surgeons – East, Central and Southern Africa. Where Clifton is a foundation fellow of the college. He immigrated to Australia with his young family and pursued further specialist training in General surgery through the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Royal Women’s Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and the Robina Hospital.
Clifton was awarded the Australasia College of Surgeons Fellowship Diploma following specialist training and examination.

Dr Rehena Ahmed
Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Dr Rehena Ahmed holds specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in 2014. Soon after that, she felt the need of solidifying her passion towards advanced laparoscopic surgery by gaining a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MMIS).
Rehena is a strong believer in achieving most of the gynaecological surgeries through a Minimally Invasive approach as part of the Enhanced Recovery Program and has been able to provide such care to most of her patients.
She provides care for women of all different age groups in various clinical areas such as endometriosis, menstrual problems, infertility, cervical screening abnormalities, prolapse, incontinence and menopausal issues through a range of medical and surgical therapies. Her primary focus remains in achievement of excellence and optimisation of patient satisfaction by pursuing a holistic approach to women’s health needs.
Dr Rehena Ahmed consults and operates in the Maitland Private Hospital. She is also a Staff Specialist in the Maitland Public Hospital where she has a public operating list.
